Armed Forces Grave Registration

Not much known of this man as he was young and went with his brother to service. The GAR has always decorated his grave.

He came to Michigan and was for a time at Three Rivers. In April 1900 he came to Waverly and wanted a pension, but could not produce his discharge papers or satisfy pension Dept. His Capt. and brother were dead and had no affidavits. He went to North Woods near Shevlin, Minn. His family stayed here. Some think he was murdered for his body was found 10 days to 2weeks afterwards frozen in his cabin. He was buried at Waverly, Iowa.
He had two brothers Jacob and Ben in the Union Army in Pa. Unit. They either enlisted from Millon or Lewisburg and was in battle under age. After he came home he was given a discharge but sold it for $100 and came west to Iowa on April 19, 1900.
