Had gone as far as Dubuque contracted the Measles ane played in a hospital but removed too quic kly sent home to recuperate and died from complications due to getting out of hospital to soon

Was a son of William and Catherine Parnell Fritts Ogden born in Carlisle Ky. Jan 4, 1838 one of 11 children He came to Henry Co. Ia. in 1849 and to Linn Ci. in 1850. Fron here to Bremer Ci. in 1852 with his parents. It was from here he enlisted in Ci. B. 38 Ia. Inf. but got no further than the Miss. river when he was taken sick with measles but was let out of the hospital too soon and told to return to Waverly to recuperate. Complications set in and he passed away Nov. 16, 1862 at the home of his siter Mrs J. L. Sturdevant in Waverly. At first he was buried in the cemtery of the bluffs north of town but later removed anout 1872to Harlington cemetery in Waverly for burial. The parents had moved to Mitchell co Ia. and the faamher pioneer in that county died ther in 1860 north of St. Ansg r another brother of Will Andrew died in service as a member of Co. K Minn. Inf. and buried in the National Cemetery at Madison Ind. This was Andrew Ogden.
