Wayne R. Bast, 80, of Ankeny, IA, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. John’s Maxfield Church in Denver, IA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of services.

Wayne is survived by his five children, Valerie (Jim) Rice of Des Moines, IA, Gregory (Jan) Bast of Goldfield, IA, Lynnette (Dave) Hastings of Ankeny, IA, Dynelle (David) Heinz of Lecanto, FL, and Lisa (Tony) Boes of Ankeny, IA; his brother, John (Judy) Bast of Mason City, IA; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne, and his parents.
