Born in Ohio. He was a twin brother of Dan Hursh and one of three sets of twins of his fathers family of 12 children. Came to Ia. to Jamesville Ia. previous to the Civil War. Enlisted from Jamesville Ia1 returned home and married Marhta Kinney at Waverly Dec. 6 1869. She was born in Ohio June 7 1844 the fourth child in a family of 10 of /Rev. Kinney a pioneer U.B. circuit Rider minister of this[s] facinity. Of 7 children born to the family 2 died in infancy and another son Arthur died during the World War. In 1932 and his body was brought to Waverl[y] for burial in Harlington Cemetery.

Nebt. not far from Valentine Nebr. Mr Hursh died here in 1923 and was [???] there. His wife died at Crookston Nebr. Aug 21 and the body of her husba[nd] was disintered and returned with that of Mrs. Hursh to be buried besiede that of the son Arthur L. in Harlington Cem. at Waverly Ia.
