Born at Indianapolis Ind. Aug. 9 1837 came to Ia in 1862. Married twice, the first time to a Margaret Messinger Daughter of John M. one of the earliest settelers of this county she died at the age of 32 about the year 1872, leaving 6 children. He left his wife and two older childre[n] to enter service. On returning he farmed and became a minister of the M.E. faith. He moved to the / state of Kansas after the death of his first wife, married again and to the 2nd. union were born Eva. and John and Amy. All living in Kansas Mr. Connor died at Lathron Ohio / where he had been taken for treatment for a disability. On Froday Sept 5 1913 age 76 years. Body was brought back to Denver Ia. and buried by side of the first wife in Messinger Cemetery a short distance south of town.
