Gerald Clow, 70, of Readlyn, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his residence in Readlyn.

Gerald Lee Clow was born on December 10, 1943, in Glendale, California, the son of James W. and Irene E. (Huffman) Clow. He graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa. Gerald was a Vietnam Vet, serving with the US Air force. On December 15, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sandra Elbert at Christ Episcopal Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Gerald was employed at Chamberlin in Waterloo, Waterloo Industries, DCI and Eagle Ottwa Tannery, retiring on July 31, 2008.

He enjoyed computers and being a private pilot.
Survivors are his wife, Sandy Clow of Readlyn, Iowa; three daughters, Sherry (Kenny) Sommerfeldt of Readlyn, Iowa, Teresa (David) Skinner of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Eaulla Saltzman of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two sons, Chris Clow of West Branch, Iowa and Steve (Margie) Clow of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Patrick Colon, Angelica Colon, Stephanie Gipper, Heather Sommerfeldt, Margie Elyse Clow, Keifer Clow, Lily Clow, Christain Saltzman, Jacob Saltzman, and Amelia Saltzman; one great grandchild, Owen Gipper and brother, Michael Clow of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Darrell Clow and sister, Joyce Clow.

Gerald’s body has been cremated and there will be a private family funeral service at a later date.
