Born in India Carrol Co. Feb 12, 1832. Enl. at age of 31. Severly wounded April, 9 1865 at Ft. Blakely. Ala. His death was caused from softening of the brain from this wound 18 years later. He enlisted Waverly Ia. as 5th. Corp. promoted Jan1, 1864 to ist. Corp. Transfereed to Co. 1, 34th. and 38 th Con Jan. 1 1865. He married Elizabeth Trumbs, Dec. 1854.
Came to Ia. with his brother in 1853 to Bremer Ci settling in Warren Township. He farmed and worked at Carpenter work.
A son and daughter were all the children born to them. Find in Ial Roster Vol. 5 page 896 also page 463. He was a brother to Sal. James R. and Jb Michall a[???] soldiers.
