Born in Sweden May 10 1842. He came to America when he was two years old. His people settled at Kenosha Wis. He enlisted at Kenosha, June 14, 1861, first discharge was Jan 1 1863; immediately reenlisted and served until June 19 1866. He was wounded twice at Port Hudson. He never completely recovered from these wounds. he came to Iow in 1870. He married Miss Mary Jane Dyer at Kenosha Wis. in Oct. 14, 1866 There were no childre. Mr. Bunth was his brother Herman started the firm of Bunth & Bunth in Selling Page fence products which was continued until ill health set in and both sold out their interests. Mr. B. was deaf from his artillery service.
