Armed Forces Grave Registration

He came to Iowa previous to Civil War. He and his wife came to Waverly and a son Barney enlisted in Co C. 14th Iowa Infantry on 12/2/1862. He died of pneumonia at Columbus, Ky, and was buried in Native Cemetery at Mound City, Ill Grave no. 3059.
The father Cyrus was 42 when he enlisted and went south with Co. B 38th Iowa. He was taken sick as many others of this regiment did. He was placed on a Hospital Ship and died at sea and was buried there. The wife and mother errected a memorial marker for her husband and son in Harlington Cemetery at Waverly, in their memory and the Robbins Post 267 Dept. of Iowa was so named in their honor.
