Obituary

Arthur A. Albrecht, 59, Readlyn, the son of Herman C. Albrecht and Dorothea (Boedeker) Albrecht, was born February 26, 1914, near Readlyn, and died on Friday, Nov. 30, at Allen Memorial Home in Waterloo.

Mr. Albrecht was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Readlyn. He served in World War II from June 1942 until December 1945 and was a charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Teisinger Post No. 5661 of Readlyn. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Carpenters local Union 1835.

He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn, Mrs. Paul Meyerhoff of Waverly and Dorothy, Mrs. Alfred Kehe of Readlyn; three brothers, Fred J. Albrecht, Cape Coral, Florida, Floyd W. Albrecht, Waterloo, and Vincent Albrecht of Burnsville, Minn.; 13 nieces and nephews; two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews.

Services for Mr. Albrecht were held on Monday, Dec. 3, at 1:20 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Readlyn with Rev. Fred Meyer officiating. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Graveside military rites were conducted by Wayne Teisinger Post 5661. Cleveland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
